MSVR's new GT Cup series has received 30 entries for its first race of the season at Donington Grand Prix circuit, despite the fact the event is still two months away.
The entry list is made up largely of Ferrari 360s and Porsche 996s but will also feature other marques and models such as TVR with the Cerbera, Marcos with the Mantis and a BMW Z4 GT4. A Ferrari 430 Challenge car will also run in the hands of Leon Price. Jim Geddie, winner of the GT Cup races at Snetterton last November, will take part in his Porsche 997 and series promoter Marc Haynes has entered with his own Ferrari 360 GT.
MSVR are confident that the grid will be full for Donington. MSVR Race Operations Manager David Scott said: "thirty eight of these mouth-watering cars will be a great way to launch this exciting new series and will reward Marc Haynes' confidence and investment".
The GT Cup is for non-professional drivers and Donington has two twenty five minute races on Sunday 13 April with practice and qualifying on the Saturday. Entry levels are steadily growing for other events on the calendar too, with 15 cars signed up for Anglesey in May and over 20 for Brands Hatch in August.
