McLaren tour for BRDC F4 leading six drivers

The leading six drivers in the 2013 BRDC Formula 4 Championship at the mid season point will be rewarded with a special tour of the renowned McLaren Technology Centre at Woking.

The six top F4 drivers after four events and 12 races are to visit the spectacular facility to see the incredible scale of technology involved in their dream - Formula 1. Each driver may bring a guest to enable this outstanding opportunity to be shared with perhaps their father or sponsor.

The BRDC F4 visitors will enjoy the privilege of a comprehensive tour of a wide range of departments involved in the production and operation of World Championship winning F1 cars. These will include those departments involved in the design and construction of the race cars, such as the CAD design office, wind tunnel, composites and gearbox assembly, together with race and test bays where the MP4-27 race cars are meticulously prepared for each Grand Prix.

The BRDC F4 guests will also get to see the state-of-the-art McLaren race car simulator where Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton develop driving skills and understand more about potential set ups prior to each F1 event, as well as the driver health and wellness centre and mission control, where an MTC based team monitor every metre the race cars cover in real time, co-ordinating with the engineers at the circuit. Finally the magnificent collection of McLaren F1 cars through the years, together with the trophies their excellence has earned, will leave the BRDC F4 drivers with a powerful vision of the rewards that absolute commitment, endeavour and talent can produce.
