VdeV UK 'going Dutch' for eighth race

The eighth race date for VdeV UK has now been confirmed, with the series heading to the Assen TT Circuit in the Netherlands on 6/7 September 2008.

The Assen TT Circuit holds FIM world championships such as World Superbikes and MotoGP, in addition to the annual Dutch TT race. The circuit is also now attracting major championships of the four wheeled variety, with the Champ Car World Series racing at Assen last year.

VdeV UK will be appearing at the ‘Classic Car Festival’, an extremely popular event with spectators in Holland, where crowds of 10,000 to 20,000 have been known.  Gary Ward, VdeV UK series founder, is delighted with the addition to the 2008 calendar. He said: “I’m ecstatic that VdeV UK will be heading to Assen in its inaugural season. Assen is a challenging circuit by anyone’s standard, and certainly fits well with the current tracks we’ll be visiting in the UK. It will be a season highlight for the competitors.”

Other season high points for the VdeV UK calendar include visits to Oulton Park, Brands Hatch GP, Silverstone and the new Anglesey International Circuit. Gary Ward is confident for the year ahead: “The ingredients of a successful season of motor sport are in place”.

The season commences at Donington GP on the 12/13 April.
