Ginetta celebrate 50th anniversary at Cadwell Park

New club series launches at festival event

This Sunday (6 April), Cadwell Park will be celebrating Ginetta's half-century with a special one-day festival organised by MSVR, featuring a feast of action from the famous marque.

To mark its golden anniversary, there will be rounds of all three Ginetta racing series - seniors, juniors and G50s - plus classic cars and Club Ginetta races.

The stars of tomorrow will start the day with qualifying for the Ginetta Junior Championship, followed by two races later in the programme. Among those lining up on the grid are ex-F1 World Champion Damon Hill's son Josh, in only his second Ginetta event, and race winners from last week's opening rounds at Brands Hatch, Dino Zamparelli and George Richardson.

In the Ginetta G50 category, which is new for 2008, Hunter Abbott is hoping to be back behind the wheel again following his dramatic accident at Oulton Park two weeks ago. The Maidenhead driver's car was destroyed when it flipped over and burst into flames, but luckily Abbott escaped unhurt.

There will also be a classic car demonstration after the lunch break, plus races from the Ginetta G20 category.

Admission is free of charge for Ginetta drivers.
