Countdown to BSB Thruxton

The long awaited rescheduled opening races of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship will be at Thruxton 18 – 20 April 2008.

Thruxton is one of the fastest circuits on the Bennetts British Superbike calendar and will test riders’ bravery to the full.

Shane Byrne on the Airwaves Ducati arrives at Thruxton knowing that he was the fastest rider at the Brands Hatch season opener, where he claimed pole position before the event was postponed and rescheduled due to extensive snowfalls.

Byrne said: "I'm feeling comfortable in the team, which is one of the best in the paddock, and the bike was good straight out of the box. Until we arrived at Brands Hatch it was a bit of an unknown in terms of outright speed. I am excited about Thruxton as we know what we are capable of on the Ducati 1098R's."

Stuart Higgs, BSB Series and Race Director, is keen as most to get the season underway. He said: “It was extremely unfortunate that the Brands Hatch event had to be postponed. However, Thruxton is a fast and exciting circuit where the spectators should enjoy some great racing. Just like all the teams, we can’t wait to get started!”
