Sylvain Guintoli is geared up for his Cadwell Park comeback and
admits he wants to give championship leader Leon Camier a tough
time on Bank Holiday weekend (29/30/31 August) on his return to the
MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship in association with
Pirelli.
Guintoli was back testing his race bike for the first time since
his Donington Park crash at Cadwell Park on Tuesday and says he
loved every minute of it. Now he is eager to pick up where he left
off; by being a regular podium finisher and putting the Worx
Crescent Suzuki at the front of the pack.
Guintoli said: "It feels like I haven't ridden in ages, which I
suppose is true, but yesterday was so much fun - I just loved it!
The team were great and it was just such a nice feeling to be
back.
"I have certainly had enough of not racing and I am fit enough and
confident enough to give it a good go now. I want to be back out
there and give Leon Camier a bit of a tough time. I think we would
have had a good fight for the championship this year and although I
can't win it now, I want to finish the season with some good
results.
"I am relaxed about coming back at Cadwell Park and the support I
have had has been unbelievable. I need to thank the Worx Crescent
Suzuki team, the medical staff and the trainers, but also all the
fans who have really been brilliant and so supportive. All I can
say now is bring on the races!"
